2. Monitoring

When you submit comments to the Myositis Support Group's Community message boards they are posted automatically. We may (but are not obliged to) monitor the contents of the Community message boards and edit or remove any comments that we deem to be inappropriate without giving reason or notice.

Any person can be banned without notice for posting comments that are not constructive to the overall purpose and mission of the Myositis Support Group, or create a distraction to that purpose and mission.

We may refer any matter to a law enforcement agency or Court of competent jurisdiction where we consider a matter is of a criminal or unlawful nature.

3. Complaints

If you would like to complain about anything that is posted on the Myositis Support Group's Community message boards, please email us with your complaint. Please also note that we will deal with the matter as we see fit but that we will take into account your views.

4. Your identity and licence

You must acknowledge that comments posted on the Myositis Support Group's Community message boards are not private communications and can be viewed by everybody who visits the message boards. Users will be able to identify, from others' chosen user names, which user has posted each comment. However, users can also post anonymously if they wish.

By posting comments on the Community message boards, you grant all other users the right to obtain access to such comments and to view, store and reproduce them for personal use.

You must log off the Myositis Support Group's message boards when you have finished posting comments to prevent anyone else accessing the Community message boards using your log-on identity. This is particularly important where other people may use the same computer as you, such as in Internet cafes. If you do not log off, you may be deemed to be the person viewing or posting comments, unless you can prove otherwise.

The Myositis Support Group's Community message boards use cookies - small text files that are placed on your computer's hard drive by our web server. They allow the server to tell whether you are logged on to the Community system, so that it can allow you access to features available only to registered users. The cookies do not contain any personally identifiable information, and they are not used to track your web browsing in any way.

The Myositis Support Group reserves the right to reveal your identity and contact details to appropriate authorities if it believes that you may have breached any of the terms and conditions.

For your own safety and security, we recommend that you do not disclose personal information such as your password, credit card number, home address, email address, phone number etc, on the Myositis Support Group's community message boards.

5. Privacy

Your email address will not be viewable to others - any messages you post will be credited to your chosen user name. If you use the system to send an email to another user, they will not see your email address unless you include it in your message.

Any information you add to your profile, either at registration or amendments you may make at a later date are, by default, hidden from all other users.

The Myositis Support Group is committed to protecting the personal data of its supporters and members. Any details you give us will be held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

From time to time we may wish to contact you about relevant Myositis Support Group services, or volunteering or fundraising opportunities. We will only do this if you have given us permission. We may, however, need to contact you from time to time with information relevant to the operation and use of the Community section.

6. Limitation of liability and exclusion of warranties

You acknowledge that the author of each posting on any of the Myositis Support Group's Community message boards is responsible for his or her comments.
