London Marathon

2017 Runners

We have ten people running in the 2017 London Marathon as part of Team Muscle – our largest team yet. Those running are Joanne Evans, David Shacklock, Sebastian Varga, Andy Cowden, Steve Clark, Daniel Jeffrey, David Jeffery, Steve Aish, Dave Oakley and Myositis UK Chairman, Les Oakley.

The run takes place on Sunday 23 April.

Charity Places

Myositis UK has one Gold Bond in the London Marathon meaning each year we have five charity places available.

To run for Myositis UK you need to complete an application form and commit to raising a minimum of £1,000. Places are awarded by the Trustees and successful applicants are required to pay a non-refundable deposit to accept and secure their place. Registration with London Marathon has to be done online by the end of January (the year of the marathon).

Runners are expected to run in a Myositis UK running t-shirt or suitable fancy dress to raise awareness.

Charity places for London Marathon 2017 have been allocated. For 2018, enquiries can be made by email but application forms will not be available until May 2017.

On the day

On the day, Myositis UK's reception for runners and their supporters can be found in the designated Rest Area in St James' Park.

Myositis UK runners and their supporters are welcome to stay as long as they wish meeting the other Myositis UK runners, resting and enjoying some celebratory refreshments.

You don't have to be in London on the day to cheer-on and support the runners. Join the Team Muscle Facebook group to be involved.
