How to Fundraise
Fundraising is a great way to raise money and
also raises awareness about Myositis.
Once you have decided on your event a key to
its success is advertisement. Let us know of your Fundraising Event
in advance and we will advertise it through the Newsletter and on
our Website. You can also set up a free fundraising page on the
JustGiving
website.
The Myositis Support Group can provide posters,
flyers, leaflets to support your endeavors. We can also supply Sponsorship
Forms and T-shirts for runners and cyclists.
Once your fundraising event is finished let us
know with a short report for the Newsletter and a photograph (if
available). Our members appreciate this news and it may spur someone
else on!
Monies raise by fundraising should be sent to
the office with cheques payable to the Myositis Support Group. Direct
payment into the Charities account can be made, please contact us
for further details.

Fundraising Tips:
- If you are designing a Sponsorship Form don’t forget
a column for Gift Aid.
- If you are organising an event at work see if they have
Match Funding
- To advertise your event ask local businesses to display
a poster many will gladly do so in their store window, and community
buildings like libraries and sports centres often have notice boards
for the public to post information.
- Write a small article on your event and send it to your
local newspaper (including the freebee papers) before the day as
they may want to join you!
- If you are doing a sponsored event you may wish to contact
the local newspaper for a Cheque Presentation once you have collected
the money in.
